I'd have guessed at the Eisenhower/JFK era, but I think that's mostly to-do with the face-makeup. Stuff is essentially the same as it was in say 1960, but the constituents of face creams etc were very different pre-Cold(cream)-War. Technology you know, all the stuff that the space race spawned.
Plainly, your budget is rather lower than that of Universal Studios when it comes to sourcing the right materials!

haha this is very, very true. i actually wasn't thinking about a specific era to emulate, more the attitude of that lot in life. the Daisy quote seemed fitting for that, though our hairstyles may differ, hers being far better (and shorter) than mine. perhaps if i find someone who would give me a finger wave i'd go all out for a flapper shoot!

Pipes: I think finger wave is a hairstyle.

Though my first thought was that a finger wave was another metaphor for the single-finger salute....

doh! a hair style ( I had no idea ) Ok I googled it now I get it.
Crikey my hair does that whenever I try to comb it..

I am sure it would look MUCH better on you and not like a cowlick.
