Yes, leprosy still exsists, even though its curable and the Multi Drug Therapt Treatment is provided for free in India and all other endemic countries (thanks to the World Health Organization). But in India, more than 150 thousand new cases are still reported each year and stigma continues to cripple lepers more than the disease that many of them have already been cured of.

Worldwide, half a million new cases of leprosy are discovered annually, and the total number of people afflicted is at least 10 million.
