The Clock Tower is a turret clock structure at the north-eastern end
of the Houses of Parliament building in Westminster, London, England.
It is popularly known as Big Ben, but this name actually belongs to
the clock's main bell. The tower has also been (incorrectly*) referred
to as St. Stephen's Tower or The Tower of Big Ben, in reference to its
bell.

Great image. By the way, this is not St. Stephen's Tower. This is officially known simply as the Clock Tower. St. Stephen's Tower is the tower above the Members' Entrance into St. Stephen's Hall. (I was Research Assn't to the Labour Party Spokesman on Trade & Industry, 1993.)

However, it is an *extremely* common misperception that the Clock Tower is officially named "St. Stephen's Tower." I do not know how this erroneous interpretation began, but it is certainly pervasive. To be fair, you quoted a statement that the tower "has been referred to as...." True enough. But, such references, when made, are incorrect, nonetheless. :)
