My favourite shot of Kaylin on the day of her Matric Ball.
Although every student looked their best for the occasion, for me personally, Kaylin stood out to be the most Elegent with such fine simplicity... A classic case of "less" is MORE...

From earlier this year, this image was captured back in April 2011.

It was a cold, stormy winter’s day in Cape Town when Lee-Chan and I decided to head out to this spot along the R44 near the Steenbras River Mouth. We had a window period of about 5 minutes to catch the last rays of very little sun that day; so without worrying to set up the tripod on very uneven rock, I set the 5D to Aperture Priority (f11), dialled in -0.3 Exposure Compensation and cranked up the ISO to 500 to attain a usable shutter speed for my handheld shot.

Massive waves were crashing over the rocks to the right with sea spray having rather negative effects on my hair :-) Nonetheless we stood and got the shot we set out for. Within a few blinks of an eye the sun disappeared and the sky darkened dramatically. We just about made it back to the car in time before a torrential downpour of note swept across the area. It was a quick round trip of about 90km, but worth the while at day’s end...
