the rustling of generations

I stopped briefly by this abandoned Iowa farmhouse this morning in on my way to work in order to capture and submit a piece of rural Iowa abandonment to Flickr 888, this year's 24-hours of Flickr event.

A pretty field of coneflowers and queen-anne's-lace greeted me; and among their whispering in the breeze, I could almost hear the sounds of the farm lives that once lived here. But, not quite.

The Landscape of Flickr 888

One of the most spectacular things about Flickr is the community. While many of these people wouldn't proclaim themselves artists, I like to refer visitors of my photostream to some awesome photos that exist in others'. If you like the images you see here, please visit my favorites from other flickr artists. These people are amazing, and most photos are of places like this.
