Rejects
The guys in 16th Avenue stopped by tonight for about 10 minutes. They needed a last minute shot for a magazine article about them. They wanted something simple and quick. They saw this shot and loved it, so here it is.
I used a few textures to add a bit more character to the background.
Simple lighting setup:
SB26 into Lastolite Ezybox overhead center
SB26 shot onto DIY reflector on the floor angled up at them for some fill 1 stop under the overhead.

Mother to Be
I did my first maternity session this weekend and I can't lie, I was a little worried that I had no idea what I was doing.
At the end of the day I was really happy with the results. Here's one of my favorites from the session, that came out of an idea my wife Carrie suggested. She makes a great creative director!
Strobist:
- Lastolite Ezybox in front of subject w/ SB-26 on 1/16
- Bare SB-26 behind subject on the left. 1/32 power
- Triggered with skyports
Shot in my house...converted to a "studio" with blankets and lightstands. The vignetting is all natural here too.

Prom
It was my brother in-law's prom this week, so I happily volunteered to do photos for him and his friends.
This was probably my favorite shot of the day.
Strobist info:
- Sun high and behind subjects
- Ezybox hotshoe high and in front of camera, just out of frame. With SB-26 on 1/2 power (triggered with skyports)
- 3 stop ND filter on the lens so I could shoot at 1/200 and reasonable aperture.
