It is a bold statement for me to declare a favorite beer but Pliney the Elder epitomizes my favorite style: bright, hoppy, floral, spicy, and a golden/orange color.
I hadn't ever tried this until today after I finally got lucky enough for my local grocery store to have 3 bottles in stock (which I bought all of). Perhaps the hunt for this elusive beer is clouding my judgment and you may find me changing my mind after drinking the other 2 bottles over time, but for now, if I had to pick one beer that I could point to and say: "out of all the styles and types of beers, this is my favorite"
I've been looking for over a year after hearing about this brew and it was worth the wait. That said, what the hell? Why so hard to get? brew more!
Next step: find this beer on tap somewhere

Well, you've sold me. So does it compare to anything? Time to canvas the Seattle liquor stores.

I think part of their allure is the lack of availability. We seem to get a shipment about every two months, and then, when it's in, those of us that love it do what you did; scoop up a few bottles!
It's been on tap at County Cork before.

Next step, the even more elusive Pliny The Younger. This is on my want list for sure. I'm dying to get to the west coast to try a fresh version of one of these bad boys.

"11.0%ABV, 1.098 O.G, GOBS of BUs
Pliny the Younger was Pliny the Elder's nephew, in the case of this beer, the "Younger" is a triple IPA. Pliny the Younger is hopped three times more than our standard IPA, and is dry hopped four different times. Seasonal release (February) available at the pub and for distribution."
