franspeter - you left out the "g" at the end, unless you are one that says it in such a fast manner that the "g" doesn't matter anyway! ;)

lorrie, this is an amazing photo, but i am never surprised at anything you photograph. you continue to give me inspiration.

i love how the leaves' shadows over-play each other. the reds are amazingly perfect.

beautiful as always! :)

All the shadow/translucent bits and the detail and focus. It's a real celebration of the phenomena of light.
And leaves too...

wow. I'm currently lookinhg for a new camera myself. I'm definetlt tending more and more towards a 20D, despite years of faithful Nikon purchases...

8 vs. 6 megapixels sold me...although for the price the Nikon D70 is a very good value.

I'm utterly amazed at the difference between this camera and my G2 (also a Canon). 3 or 4 years of technological advances and a few *cough* more dollars makes a HUGE difference. God I missed a real lens.

Phenomenal photo. Love the colors and the grace.

I'm about to get a D70, but I guess I'll look into the Canon 20D first!

I would highly recommend reading the great review by Ken Rockwell comparing both cameras before making your decision. Here is an excerpt:

"If you're starting from scratch, or will be buying a few lenses and flash anyway, which is better depends on your application. Image quality and overall ease of use are about the same. The 20D costs more because it's more solid, bigger, heavier and has a much higher frame rate for sports. The D70 is smaller, lighter, a little easier to adjust quickly in the field and costs less."

As for the Nikon d70... I'm about to buying one myself, price of eos 20d being too high for me. Also, even if I caould afford one, I will surely miss spot metering, which I'm used to.

Lorrie McClanahan  Pro User  says:

;-) I'm glad you did. I didn't realize the Canon averaged the light. Hmmm...will have to read some more, because I've changed the focus to single point, and I thought that also made the metering precise.

sam_  Pro User  says:

All light meters produce an average in one sense or another. They have to in order to estimate the proper exposure. Spot metering just takes a reading from a smaller areas whereas something like matrix metering takes more readings and then averages all of them.
