Your photos have a sort of different era atmosphere about them, real but not quite.

The text in this shot just adds that extra element that really makes this scene work. Great vision.

Love the tension between the text and the chair. So much space. Great shot.

Love the title of this one. It fits the small-town feel and the "plain-ness" of the facade perfectly. That it's the real title of a real newspaper is just plain cool too (couldn't resist).

trailer for sale or rent
rooms to let 50 cents...

two hours of pushing broom buys an 8x12 foot bedroom

this is so evocative - even for a bloke in brussels, man of means by no means.

Is this montserrat, did you blow flower all over the shop, this looks un-natural, if that was the effect desired, well done...if not, read below

the lack of depth put me off at first; but the emptiness and flatness is what gives this shot its incredible impact - all it needs is one of Ry Cooder's movie soundtracks

Excellent job. I'd be hard pressed to tell this was a digital photo. It helps that the subject looks like it could be from an earlier time too.

Love the sense of fragility that this imparts, enhanced by the tilted chair.

Don't like the corner blur (especially in the canopy) but not enough to keep me from saving this one.

Evocative, deceptively simple. Tasty stuff.

Jim Skea  Pro User  says:

Compositionally fine, I think the canopy works well as an extra frame (though I'm surprised noone got at you for the black border. We must be getting soft. I think it sets off the photo very well, giving us an interruption between the softness of the image and flickr's nondescript white background.)

Most of all I like the sensation this gives to me that we're waiting for something to happen, with the empty chair turned towards the bottom right just inviting someone to come in from there.

A pleasure to lock this away in the Safe.

PS: I'd be interested in knowing what treatment you gave this photo - it seems there's a slight pinkish toning.
