Uncle Billy Bell (John William Bell), Austin, Texas, c.1885
J. T. Bell's brother John William Bell in a picture taken on Congress Ave in Austin around 1885. The last time I went to Austin I paid a visit to 818 Congress Ave--sadly neither the Journeay photographic studio, nor any trace of same, remains. There were six children of Robert W. and Tabitha Biggers Bell (gosh, I love typing that)--Mollie Bell, John William Bell, Lewis Woodson Bell, Robert Miller Bell ("Judge"), James Thomas Bell (my great-great-granddad, known as "General" but I'm not certain why), and Flora Evaline Bell. In this gallery I have pictures of all of them except Robert Miller Bell, who I assume was too busy judging things to get his photograph taken.
