LOST

LOST by mcbarnicle.
i've been taking pictures of lost dog & cat & bird posters for about 2 years. There is something very raw in the emotion of these posters, its also interesting the variations in styles. Printed, handwritten, photos, color, reward offered, sometime written in the first person ("I'm lost" - says the tabby)... I've also added a few "Found - dog/cat" posters to balance it out. What's saddest is the posters that appear to have been up for months, weather beaten and faded, I can't bring myself to take them down, but i always wonder if they found their pet.

I feel the same way. I lost a dog (twice) and found him both times. The first time he was gone for 5 mos, and the 2nd time one week. Last year, my cat of 9 yrs, who was a total homebody and never left the yard, went missing while I was on a business trip, (in the care of a pet-sitter- go-figure!) and was never found alive or dead. There is also a book called, "Lost" that features lost pet flyers from the US and different countries. Very poignant.
