Into the MistThe forecast called for calm winds around Mt. Hood a few days back, so I made the predawn drive up to this well photographed lake to see what sunrise would bring. The whole drive up looked promising with a few clouds drifting by. But when I dropped down to where the lake was, there was a dense and slow moving layer of fog/ mist sitting on it. So--- no mountain views that morning, but it was good to focus on capturing a more atmospheric scene.

I decided to repost this one after reprocessing it for the better--- cleaned up some dust spots from the grad as well as bumped the exposure a notch. Definitely think it presents better. This is classic Sierra high country-- North Peak if you wondering.

View towards Mt. Bachelor from near the Cascade Lakes Highway. This whole section of meadow held many small streams and small bodies of water, as well as patches of wildflowers. If the flowers ever take off this would be a killer location full of compositional possibilities!

Uploaded on Jun 19, 2009 Rhodies at LoloOn the way back from Mount Hood I took a detour up to Lolo pass to try and find the classic rhodie and forest scene. It seems right now most of the blooming rhodies are found in the clearings. The ones I found in the forest haven't popped yet.
