Portrait
This is a re-cropped file from a photoshoot for a client, they supplied 8 models of which only one was male.
The shoot required we setup our make shift studio in their shop (hair dresser).
From memory, this shot involved using only 2 lights. A medium softbox on a Elinchrom D-Lite4 at right about 3 feet from subject. A gridded parabolic reflector at the left mounted on a Elinchrom Ranger Quadra battery pack. Background was white seamless, I gobo’ed the lights to stop any spill light hitting the paper, ‘cause I wanted it to go black.
As for settings, it’s the bog standard studio setup of iso100, 1/200th to kill the ambient in the room and f/11. Lights were on about 1/2 power I think (200Ws).
Edit: I just remembered, I also placed a slaved and gridded SB800 to the rear lighting his shoulders and the back of his hair for some rim light.

OCF Workshop
Quadra (port B) with BD in front and high, 1.5 stop under the speedlites, cross lit with 2x 580EXII and SB24 on bg.
I like that the Quadra takes a Pocket Wizard and I can still use the Skyport to adjust power.
