1965 Opel Admiral

Schloss Moyland / Moyland Castle - Bedburg-Hau, Niederrhein, Germany

Always the least attractive of all my Opel calender plates in my opinion. I never understood why this gloomy castle, obviously in need of a restauration, with windows covered, was used as a background for the nice white Opel flagship. Meanwhile the castle has been restored, and where the car is parked at this photo, is now a canal around the building again.

The Moyland Castle in Bedburg-Hay, between Kleve (Cleves) and Kalkar, belongs to a well known family in Germany. However, nobody lives here, but since the restauration which as completed in July 2007, the castle houses, among others, a museum of modern art.
