The Gherkin (HDR)

The Gherkin (HDR) by Mayer of London.
Here is one of the three originals used to make this image. I like this one more than the original. What do you think?

Try looking at this this version too.

This is a very good shot. The building is not leaning, not much to distract, simple and a good contrast to the old building in the front.

Wow, this is a very good shot! It's very hard to capture the soul in an architecture photo, but this does that in a very good way! I like the way you've been able to get the reflection in this photo! You might like to try a different crop, as the treetop in the bottom of the shot is somewhat distracting. The building is the main subject, so it should get all the attention here. You should keep the other buildings, though, as they seem to support the tower. Otherwise, a little more contrast and saturation would be good as well, to bring out the colours and colour differences a little more. This is overall a very good shot, and a few adjustments could make this a great shot. Good job! =)

I love this HDR shot - the Gherkin lends itself so well to HDR for some reason. WHat I like though is the capture of the old buildings in the foregroujnd which lends itself really well to the scene - for those who don't know the city of London too well, it has a real mish mesh of new and old buildings. The angle is really good. The only thing I would love to see would be more detail in the clouds etc behind this (I know this is something you can't control - thats up to God) but there is perhaps too much whiteness behind the subject matter (the Gherkin) which while helps it stand out, a series of well defined clouds would be even better.

Aside from that - its a fantastic shot - congratulations!
