Foggy Sunrise At The Golden Gate Bridge - Day 3
Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin Headlands - Marin County, California
So The fog rolled through the Golden Gate Bridge for a third day straight, and again, I just couldn't pass it up. I made my way out, snapped a few test shots, and like making pancakes, I tossed the first couple of images.
I wanted to get to a spot as close to the bridge as possible, and Battery Spencer is the place to be if you're looking for a close-up of the bridge. I tried a few wide angle compositions, but felt like the image was to "busy". After some moving around, I decided to revisit a composition that I tried last year. A little odd, but I really liked the B&W version.
So here is one from my third day out. I am sure this one will be my last for a while. The weather shows a few storms coming in soon, so that should break up the high pressure thats been sitting off shore causing this fog.

Dude, I officially hate you. ;) Just kidding man, I had a dentist appointment this morning and thought of canceling, but the forecast of "clear" made me keep it. Looks like the sky was cleared this morning, but the fog remained.
I may have to try tomorrow and/or Friday just for the sake of trying.

Yeah Jim, I uploaded this just to make you mad.... Hahahahaha! No really.... I couldn't pass up the trifecta. This was the least interesting of the three days, but still worth the trip. I have read a couple different weather predictions for Thursday morning, and one did state patchy fog in the AM. Let me know if you head up. Now you know how I feel about your recent trips these past few months!

Nice one. I thought I was going to get something like this as I rode my bicycle over on Sarutday morning. It looked good as I was actually crossing the bridge, but by the time I got up to Hawk Hill, the fog had completely consumed the entire bridge and there wasn't but a bunch of fog to see.

the area is really just magical and the bridge has some serious followers,
some people have been shooting this bridge for more than 25+ years.
i remember meeting a regular photographer here, carol simowitz.

Love this rolling fog, and the mountain in the distance. the light and color in the sky is soft and beautiful...quite dreamy, like fog....Wonderfully composed, Steve, with great leading lines...just love the way the bridge is isolated above this fog, lifted away from the city, so to speak, into another, calmer world :~)

Absolutely amazing!!! This one is so beautiful that it nearly leaves me tongue tied. I'm guessing that that is San Bruno Mountain poking out of the fog in the distance. After seeing this (and John's work), I may never take another photo of the GG Bridge again!
