I think the time to take this shot is when the moon is full in December, but I'm not sure.

	maxedaperture says: So last Friday, the moon was at 96 degrees from north and not in a good position for the Iwo Jima shot (as seen above). Later this year, on September 15th, the full moon will be at 85 degrees from north, which I think is going to be too far to the left (basically a mirror image of the shot above). On March 10 of next year, it will be at 88 degrees which could be a nearly ideal time to take this shot. I'll have to mark my calendar. Posted 2 months ago. ( permalink )
