Contemplating about this place...“By all means use some time to be alone.” -Edward Young ”Jag befinner mig i vidsträckta rymder av tankens värld. Min lätta och vägvinnande kraftutövning skänker mig sagolika bragder. Alla kan finna glädje i mina skapelseakter.” –Hans ”maurice flower” (not full name) Affirmation, text in Swedish. ”In solitude the mind gains strength and learns to lean upon itself.” -Laurence Sterne “A solitude is the audience-chamber of God.” -Walter Savage Landor

I am sitting on the bridge in the still summer's evening in front of Rockelsta manor-house in the province of Södermanland in Sweden. This is quite close to where my sister lived in her big house out in the country until the summer of 2006. ”The old house” of hers can be seen in other sets of my photostream – if you are curious to see it... And here an interesting fact about this place After World War I Hermann Wilhelm Goering came here as a pilot and immediately fell in love and got married to the Swedish Baroness Carin von Kantzow. He became close friend to the owner of Rockelstad manor-house; Eric von Rosen. For a while Goering was working as a pilot in Sweden in Svenska Lufttrafik. Not many people in Sweden know about this. Here is a presentation of Rockelstad Castle through their homepage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ About the camera being used, and some more colore negative film Fuji ISO 200 (a bit too old), compact 35 rangefinder camera model; ”New Canonet QL17-L” (model name according to Canon, "L" stands for "luxury model", black camera body with the original Canon lenshood) (first marketed 1970). Read more and compare the old version of ”Canon QL17” with ”Leica M6”! And my close friend has ”Canonet QL17 GIII”! This model is slightly better than mine. The lens of this camera is actually sharpest when wide-open, a rarity in photography that makes this an excellent camera for use in low-light! Here is another classic compact 35 camera that I would like to have! It's a Minox 35ML! Now I am mostly using a digital camera; Canon PowerShot G5. And most of the pictures here in my photostream are taken with this camera. It has 5 megapixel and RAW format. Some pictures in my photostream are taken with the much more simple digital camera (2 megapixel) Kodak EasyShare CX7220. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quotation attributed to: -Edward Young.
