Sunset Through Scripps Pier

This is the sun setting right in the middle of the Scripps Pier in La Jolla on May 2nd, 2008. It was difficult to get the pier bright enough while keeping the sun properly exposed.

Wow, I'd say you were pretty lucky, after all that planning, not to have an overcast day. I live nearby in Del Mar, and it's been days since the sun has been out.

Betty R, I definitely agree! It's been really overcast lately. The day I took it, it was perfectly clear until about 10 minutes before sunset. Some clouds started to roll in, but it wasn't bad enough that it affected the shot too much.
