It was hard to locate Luna - I had to search the web for obscure photos to figure out which tree on the ridgeline is Luna. I'm as sure as I can be that this is her. (If Julia Butterfly sees this photo - as much as I'd love to meet Luna, I stayed on the highway and did not go hiking up the hill)
Luna (also known as the Stafford Giant) is a 700-year old redwood tree that hosted one of the most famous tree-sits ever. Julia Butterfly sat up in the great tree for 2 years until the Pacific Lumber Company (PALCO) agreed to preserve the tree and a buffer zone around it. Taken from the highway with a 12x zoom lens.
Luna sits on private property. If you go looking for her, do what I did - shoot your pictures from the highway and do not trespass.
