The Old Forest
I stumbled upon this scene last week while exploring the local state park. The evening was haunting, the air humid, and the forest alive with voices. I must admit that I was amost scared at times to be out there alone. My fear was more directed towards the idea of quick sand. I have already fallin into quick sand once in my life and do not wish to do it again. I tried to keep sturdy objects within grasping distance. I was fortunate enough to fall into quick sand and have a clump of grass near by to help pull myself out last time. Okay, so I have totally digressed from my original intent. Oh well, I guess I felt it was necessary for others to hear my train of thought about how to get out of quick sand. One more thing, don't panic and struggle because it really does make you sink farther in.
I used Photoshop CS3 to stich this image together. I shot this particular pano horizontally and it was three images. I initially was shooting only one shot, but realized that it would make a better panorama. I normally would have shot vertically. I am happy enough with the 5D's image quality that I will use this shot. This was converted to B&W in Lightroom and then dodged and burned in CS3.
