Why do they have to get a PS3? I believe the game is also available on the 360.

Nice comparisons btw.

heroinsmoker, The Xbox 360 version of GTA IV is also high def. Same rez as the PS3 version of GTA IV. Real life is ever higher rez though. LOL
I love this compairison. Anybody got real life photos of a Forerunner power station to compare with game shots of Halo 3's Avalanche level. That would rule! (but probably asking too much)

If you're going to nitpick, I'm going to have to correct you...

PS3 runs the game in 640p. XBox runs it in 720p.

actually, if you're going to try to correct somebody please try knowing what you're talking about first. the playstation version of the game runs at 640p and the xbox360 version runs at 720p. the playstation 3 can play some games at 1080p but that doesnt mean all of them are in 1080p.

It has been well documented that the PS3 version of GTA has been rendered in 640P with additional filters applied to smooth the image and enhance the colours. If you own a 720P or 1080P TV, the PS3 will upscale the image to suit your native resolution.

The 360 version is rendered in 720P with less filters applied. Depending on the output from the 360 (component or HDMI) and the type of input your TV accepts, the 360 will upscale the image to your TV's native resolution.

Regardless of the resolution, you can actually *play* the game on PS3 instead of worrying that the machine blows up and you're stuck to 1 month RMA cycle ;)

And the colors are, IMO, better on PS3.
