Pencils

Any ideas how to remove the bluey shadow area here without destroying the colour blurs? Tried setting as the white point but lost shadow detail in other areas.
Pencils by Matt Gypps.
Another from my test series. Thought I'd add some pencil lines in as well this time, to break up the white a bit.

The brute force approach might work for your shadow - erase it in the clear, and then try painting or cloning in white on a separate layer around your color lines. You'll have some overlap, but if you play with the transparency of the layer you may get good results at the end. Or perhaps an Overlay layer where you adjust the hue, and mask out what you don't want to change. That sort of thing.

Nice image - your control of the elements is obvious. (321)

I had one like this once, took 2 pictures kept each aspect identical, only variable was the focus, then put the 2 photo's together in photoshop and u can merge them together to remove the bluey shadow whilst keeping everything else the same!

Hope it works

hack the photo!

to reduce the blur area don't use software methods: use a stand to lock the camera, close the aperture and overexpose the shot!

if you use a digital camera it will be difficoult, but not impossible...

The blue areas in the shadows are due to having more than one light source. You probably used a flash or studio lights and had natural light in the background or overhead incandescent or florescent light. Try shutting off all other light sources other than your primary next time and you will eliminate color cast shadows. It's almost impossible to remove from a photo after the fact.

I looked at a few of your other photos and it might also be caused by blowing out one or more of the color channels. Take a look at the histogram for each photo right out of the camera as well as after you process them. If you aren't shooting RAW, now might be a good time to start as it will give you significantly more latitude for adjustment after the fact.
