28th June 2009: Dragon Boat Yum Cha by Matthew Armstrong

28th June 2009: Dragon Boat Yum Cha

To Chinatown, for some yummy Dim Sum (although for some reason they call it Yum Cha in Australia...) Then on to the NGV in Fed Square for a bit of art, through the shops and back home again for tea and a bit of Glastonbury coverage over the internets...

27th June 2009: Fitting Tribute by Matthew Armstrong

27th June 2009: Fitting Tribute

I can imagine that this scribble on some bed sheets is what he would have wanted. Spotted in North Carlton as we walked back to car after the third of our disappointing Saturday morning house viewings.

Later we went to Northcote for dinner and to see the average State of Play at the Westgarth cinema.

26th June 2009: Melbourne Morning

I do love the skies in Melbourne. Here's another pretty one as I wandered up the street to catch my bus in the morning.

25th June 2009: Drinks on Gertrude St by Matthew Armstrong

25th June 2009: Drinks on Gertrude St

Out to see another flat after work: a huge place in Collingwood with loads of outside space. Sadly it needed just a little bit too much work doing on it for us (and it's not quite the location we're after). Afterwards we had some excellent Mexican food at Trippy Tacos on Smith St, and then on for drinks at this funky bar on nearby Gertrude St.

24th June 2009: Night Falls Over Balaclava by Matthew Armstrong

24th June 2009: Night Falls Over Balaclava

Maybe it's the corrugated iron, but there's something a bit South America about the view across to the city from the platform at Balaclava station. It's only those Melbourne skyscrapers peeping up in the distance that give the real location away.
