How did you focus on where your body would be, while you were looking through the camera? This problem bothers me a lot when I do self portrait.....

I used a stand-in to do focus. As I was jumping onto a pillow (a good tip if you're leaping onto concrete, wearing socks) I was going to be in the same plane every time. Stopping down the aperture also helps
