Beautifully photographed flag. Your interpretation of the colours is interesting. Given that it is the republican flag, which was adopted in 1911 in place of the blue and white flag of the Portuguese Kingdom, iit is much more likely that the red/green is a reference to the republican carbonaria that overthrew the monarchy (red and green were the colours of the old Portuguese Republican Party). Still... nice one, and definitely a favourite.

Two years ago i have published my country flag here it was 18th FIFA World Cup, we were then sent home by the German team. Today, we are again loosing against the German team but i have faith so i am holding my flag up high with great pride and I hope to win this time.

From the notes on your photo.
I thought the green symbolized the land, red for the blood split over that land and the armillary sphere united the two concepts. Either way, it's definitely one of the best thought-out flags in the world- by far.
