Brewster-Clay Hole Woodlands

(23 acres) This predominantly pine-oak upland forest and former sheep farm is large for Cape Cod and will help protect a town of Orleans public well field. The property is priority habitat for rare species, contains a certified vernal pool, and is adjacent to the Hamilton property purchased by the Brewster Conservation Trust with the help of a fiscal year 2010 EEA-sponsored Conservation Partnership Grant. As this is a partnership that protects a water supply, the Orleans Selectmen will hold a conservation restriction.
