Daydreaming of Snacking

I've learned that when a large predator animal, like this lion at the Oregon Zoo, looks intently at something for a long time, they are likely thinking about how nice it would be to eat it. For this lion, a nearby kid fit the bill.

Discovery

Cooper loves the children's play area at the new Vancouver Public Library. Portland may have the best library system in the nation, but Vancouver may have the best library building. It's amazing. It just might be the best thing Vancouver has.

Lap Pool

Cooper loves to run. He's not very good at it yet, but give him an open place like an empty wading pool, and he's off.

Fort Smithery

One of the resident blacksmiths at Fort Vancouver National Historic Park works some iron yesterday. The smiths use period tools and forges to fashion many of the things in use at the historic trading post.
