This is what happens when you forget the ant guard by martytdx.
I put out this orange for our orioles, but we forgot to put vegetable oil on the pole leading to it. The next morning, you have a lot of visitors. Hopefully the catbirds and woodpeckers like ants...

P.S. the ants are called "Pharaoh Ants" (species Monomorium pharaonis).
