Autumn at Stourhead (Explore #1)

The last from my trip to Stourhead. This is a bit more of a typical composition for this location, but the colour and light was excellent. The sun placement created such great colour contrasts and whilst its not quite as colourful as it has been on previous years, there is enough to show off this year's Autumnal colour.

Am off to Bath later to catch the 'We Love Bath' exhibition where one of my photos features. Have been invited to the private viewing (all very exciting). Details can be found here if you have not seen already.

    You know, I was talking to a friend of mine who prints and participates in photography contests and exhibits. He shared an interesting story with me about lurking in the gallery while viewers took in the works. His BWs, while obviously of high quality, garnered little attention. Everyone seems to go for the colours. I wonder if you have a similar experience.

    This is an autumn wonder. The lighting is surreal and the colours super saturated. Reminds me of my fuji velvia days. Striking image Martin.

    I think the more time you spend as a photographer the more your eye matures. I think I am finally starting to understand black and white a bit more, especially after being exposed to some of the best examples, including your own work. Your application of black and white at night is exceptional. It has really inspired me to look deeper into the use of black and white within my own work. You are right though, most typically favour my colour work. Thank you also for your considered comments on my stream Stephen.
