The Tulip Stairs

The Tulip Stairs, inside the Queen's House, Greenwich Park in London. I had to be quick with the camera for this one as had already been told not to take photos upon arrival. I was pounced on by a very unimpressed security guard the moment I took this. I felt it worth the ticking off ;-)

    Gorgeous of course, but considering the circumstances one for the private collection perhaps.

    Hypnotic and oh so cool!!!

    I love the perspective here and the blue colors near the top of the photo, excellent work Martin!

    Although you had to take it quickly its a great shot. You got the composition perfect with that spiral going diagonally across the frame. Lovely.

    I know these spiral staircase shots are everywhere but it's a dream shot of mine! Too bad we have uninteresting architecture around here! Gorgeous blue at the upper right, Martin!

    Law breaker/image maker! Fantastic capture no matter how long you'll be imprisioned in the Tower Of London. ;)

    I'm happy for the "don't use flash", but why stop all photography? The blue at the top of the spiral is delicious.

    Thank you all :-)

    @James - Samyang 8mm Fisheye.

  17. James Clegg (33 months ago | reply)

    Is that in old 35mm money - so 12mm on your D90 right? How do you find it with regards to distortion etc, I have a flickr contact who got a Sigma 10mm 180 degree fisheye for his D200 and seems to have major probs.......if only I could get one of these with an Oly 4/3rds mount! (but then it would be 16mm so not a huge difference to my 9-18mm!)

    Beautiful...well worth it. I bet the guy snaps these views on his phone when youve all gone home anyways.

    Excellent photo, so well done especially if you were rushed. Love it.
