Wall to Wall Orchids

    59/366
My long time office-mate, John( flickr.com/photos/12403917@N05/ ), and his wife Julie took PJ and I out to the gala opening of the SF Orchid show. That's a lot of orchids and a lot of walking you see out there. Great fun but we were exhausted by the time we got home. Thanks John and Julie.

This a stitched shot taken from the rear of the vendors area - can you spot the under-exposed shot (it's not hard)?

That's a lot of sneezing, for me. Wouldn't stop me from going, though.

I'm curious to know what it smelled like.

kd - I have the most insensitive nose so you'll have to ask PJ about the smells - the colors were beautiful though.

Drive - some of those orchids would look great with your tiki heads

It is beautiful. Your wide angle wasn't wide enoug?

I understand the insensetive nose, I have an extremely diminished sense of smell myself, Scents are so rare to me that I can't identify them when I do smell things. My Hubby marvels that I can't enjoy the scents of the flowers I grow in the garden. He appreciates them for me.

Aplseed - the lighting, as usual at these kind of things, was not conducive to available light photography. I was using the thrifty 50 (50mm f1.8) because it's fast enough to get something at least. The super-wide isn't very fast - usually it doesn't matter but it this case I was struggling.

I like this shot its detailed, shows lots of activity. The line of the lights on top are great too.
