From the 1920's till halfway into the 1970's the Catskill Mountain
area was a major resort destination for Jewish New Yorkers.
During the 70's flying got cheaper and therefore vacation destinations changed and the whole the area, nicknamed "The Borsjt Belt" was left abandoned in a short period of time.
Now it feels kinda strange when one's driving around here. The beautiful nature is overwelming and opposite from that are the hundreds and hundreds of abandoned hotels.
This hotel was one of the big hotels with a private swimming pool, bowling lane and night club.
