    Coffin

    US trip

March 2010. Finally after dreaming and talking about it for a couple of years, Bart and I stand in front the huge airbus A380 that is about to take us to New York JFK airport. We’re off for a week exploring in the states, meeting up with with American explorers and doing some tourist stuff since this is for the both of us our first visit to the States.

Our six and a half hour flight turned into a 11 hour trip due to delay because of technical difficulties. We have been strip searched and our bags were emptied and checked several times before we were set loose in New York City.

It was a great week in which we drove a 1000 miles, visited 3 states, explored 7 locations, spent a good deal of time in NYC and too little time in Philadelphia, met up and drink with awesome people.

So a BIG THANKS to Nan (Tigeyuz) for driving all the way to the Catskills to hang out and explore with us, it was a pleasure!! THANK you very much Nick & Hillary for the good times and providing us with a place to sleep, it was awesome! And THANKS to Kevin and Matt for showing us some beautiful abandonments. It was great to have you guys over here too!

    MT Psychiatric Center

This relatively small psychiatric center is listed as one the most haunted places of the county. The lovely Nan took us to see this place. At least fenced off for over a decade the decay in here is beautiful. The building itself is about to collapse and you really have to watch your step. Parts of the floor are moving as you walk over it. This place is a must-see, despite the risks that come with the building. It has it all, wheelchairs, coffins, a dentist chair and a lot more stuff.

We only had a couple of hours to explore this place, because we had to be in Philadelphia that same night.

I like this photo Very Much. But it also points out how much a coffin is just a waste of money!
