The "Karoo" is a very large semi-desert region consisting of many towns in the Western & Northern Cape (South Africa). It is divided into the Little or Succulent Karoo (which is very picturesque, mountainous and has over half the succulent plants in the World), and the Great Karoo (which is very vast, flat and more arid).

The "Little Karoo" is any photographers dream, and the textures, unusual vegetation, and vast unspoiled spaces make it very spectacular to experience.
