A very old Pachypodium namaquanum (Halfmens) in the surreal landscape of the Northern Richtersveld. This shot was taken early in the morning, and the moon was still visible in the sky.
Note: Pachypodium namaquanum only grows a few millimetres in a good year.
Richtersveld, Northern Cape, South Africa, August 2007.
