Pears

Pears by Marshed.
Group of pears for a future pear project.

It's awkward for food photography since you usually want things to look fresh, but pears ripen off the tree to prevent the flesh from changing texture, which happens if they ripen on the tree. This means the stems are always brown. Brown stems seem to be expected on apples, since they sit in cold storage most of the year before being released for distribution. A real fresh apple usually has a green stem, like a fresh cherry.
