Kurt on Old Brownsville Road

Kurt on Old Brownsville Road by Mark Stosberg.
This was the first bike tour for Kurt's home-made recumbent, and it worked very well. He didn't have to saw anything off or re-weld anything for the whole trip.

Kurt's bike design was modeled after after a $2,000 commercial make, but built from $250 in parts, including CroMoly tubing and carbon fiber fork.

Here Kurt's seen cruising along in comfort about 25 miles into a 50 mile day. With the recumbent design, Kurt reported no significant discomforts after these long days of riding on often hilly terrain.

This bike makes an incredible amount of sense. It has large wheels front and rear for the least amount of rolling resistance, the rider is in a comfortable reclined position.
