This man is begging on one of the preeminent symbols of American capitalism, prosperity, and materialism (Michigan Ave.) using a Starbucks cup (another sybmol of our socially unjust pursuit of wealth).

Hmmm. They don't give those cups out for free so something tells me that he bought a coffee. I have tons of photographs of homeless people smoking too. Not a very good use for other people's hard earned cash.
Whenever I see a homeless person, I offer them a hamburger or something. 95% of the time, they won't accept it. They want the money for their vice.
