"Slightly Out of Focus".. (2)

"Slightly Out of Focus".. (2)

A stuck shutter button, and after a lot of presure still managed to take a photo, gave these results. Almost a roll full of "slightly out of focus". Unfortunately no D-Day landings on my roll but I still wanted to share some of them.

This is probably one of the downsides of analogue photography, not knowing weather a shot succeeded or not, that is, not until you have developed it. Still that is also one of the things I like about analogue photography.

I have had a little problem with the OM-1n the last few days, apart from the light meter that has died. I went out shooting the river where my hometown is created next to. Shot some descent photos in Plus-X, and yes what does happen, a stuck shutter button. Much of the photos are not in focus because of that, and I am sick of that. The beauty of analogue has also it's downside, but still it is an incredible medium. And perhaps that is part of the thrill shooting analogue, if I'll show you all the descent-great photos that went wrong, Flickr would run out of space in a matter of speaking.. And I know for sure you all have your stories about this as well. I will upload the results anyway because I still like the B@W graphics of it, and show what I wanted to show.

Still, this is Lola as you know, laying down and sleeping in my (work)jeans folded on my arm chair. So who cares anyway.

Developed in T-max instead of D76, I was sure I still had some D76 but I was wrong, the results are okay but I still do prefer D76.

--> Hometown Explorations --> Culemborg --> Floodplains - the Lek

You might remember this from a b&w photo before, shot in the snow and wit a neat and effective development error. This is a monument for "the struggling against the water" not uncommon here in Holland. The saying God created the Earth, the Dutch created Holland is a saying that comes fromn that. Managing water, most of our land is beneath sea level, and most of all the mayor European rivers, that take birth in the Alps, flow into the ocean through Holland. Taken on the dike of the river called the Lek, wich is one of the last parts of the river Rhine before it flows into the ocean. The last couple of days, the river has reached it lowest point ever. Because of the extremely low temperatures all water locks are opened in fear of freezing of these constructions. Mainly, in this time of year the rivers expand because of all the melt water from the Alps, and sometimes almost to upper dike levels resulting in major evacuations. I haven't seen anything like this in my entire life, you can jus walk around the cribs, that normally expand 30 to 50 meters into the water of the river, the banks are all uncovered from water and reveiling al kind of misterious stuff... To be continued, as I said I developed a film tonight.. ;)

Funny aspect of this photo is, in contradiction with the photo being takenwith the SLR (Chinon), the finger isn't on the brigde.
