Leaning on the pole

Leaning on the pole

So I moved to Canberra and moved in with the lovely Elaine.
After a few weeks she suggested I might like to join "them" for a holiday.
Who is them?
Well her and a bunch of neighbours apparently.
I'm from Sydney. We don't go on holidays with our neighbours. We generally dont even know our neighbours names!
But I was brave and decided to try this new neighbourly holiday thing.
But recruited Mr Noodles from Sydney in case it all got too weird.

We went via Cooma, The Avenue of Flags, where 9 years previously my mother was primarily responsible for getting a Russian flag and flagpole raised for the Russians who helped work on the Snowy Mountain Hydro Electricity Scheme.
