Trumpeter Swans - Kempenfelt Bay Barrie Ontario Canada

Sunday January 15 - spent some time with these beautiful Trumpeter Swans on Sunday afternoon at Centennial Beach. This is the first time this year they have been so close to shore. I love how the little one is watching me. I am literally feet away.

The Trumpeter was once an endangered species in Canada - now a protected species. Great to have them back in the Bay even for such a short time. The Trumpeter is also the only swan species native to North America and is the largest Swan species. They are huge!

The beauty of nature is all around us. We just need to open our eyes.

Another beautiful Trumpeter Swan - Kempenfelt Bay Barrie Ontario Canada

These swans are untagged and have probably come in from the Wye March area near Midland Ontario. Their visits leave me humbled and speechless.

Portrait Young Cross Fox

Portrait Young Cross Fox

A Cross Fox is a variant of the Red Fox that is present in North America. Cross foxes have a prominent black stripe along the spine and a stripe along the shoulders at a right angle, which gives the appearance of being a cross.

I met this wild cross fox last summer along the North Shore of Prince Edward Island's National Park - across the road from the sand dunes and those beautiful beaches. Just at the Dalvey by the Sea turnoff if you know the area.

The beauty of nature is all around us. We just need to open our eyes.
