Yoplait Free!

Skunk that just celebrated Independence Day 2008 after I took a Yoplait yogurt container off its head. This is the "after" photo. See my photostream for the "before" photo with the cup on its head forever, barring human intervention.

I found the cup very difficult to remove. This adult skunk would have died with its head in the cup as many have. They stick firmly under the jawbone and cannot be dislodged.

And no this is not an old cup before the redesign. This is after the failed redesign of the Yoplait cup. No skunk is going to find yogurt in a cup that is a decade old . . .

If you don't believe skunks get their heads caught in Yoplait yogurt containers, call and ask someone at your local wildlife rescue.

DO NOT handle skunks. They can carry rabies in addition to the obvious reason not to mess with them. This had a blanket thrown on it. I wore a welder's glove on the hand holding it down, pulled very hard with the other hand and then jumped away after freeing it while the skunk was still disoriented. It sprayed into the blanket but I still have a certain fragrence about me. . .

I have no anti-General Mills agenda, I am their Number One Cheerio's eater! 50+ years and counting!
