So, the forecasters assured me that there was a 70% chance of rain most of the day today. I thought I would sleep in - at least until 6am or so - then spend the rainy weather scouting a couple of new locations. Imagine my surprise (silly me) when I woke up and it not only was most definitely not raining but the forecast was now for partly cloudy skies, 30% chance of rain. How does it change so much in 6 hours?
To be fair, the sunrise was anticlimatic - this was several moments after sunrise and lasted all of a minute, when a bank of clouds at the horizon blocked the sun. I kept thinking - no, no, I need a bit more cloud cover. I didn't want things to get so bright that I couldn't shoot. We should be careful what we wish for - within a half hour, the sky clouded over and I spent the next two hours shooting in a very light rain.
