(Core 2 Duo 6300; 1.86GHz/2M/1066/06). Photographed using a 100 mm 2.8 macro lens attached to a 1.4 X teleconverter and 12.5 extension tube. The upper green area is the SRAM cache area. This photo shows the bottom half of the chip containing the two cores (left and right).
The numbers after "Core 2 Duo 6300" indicate a) the frequency [1.86 GHz]; the amount of onboard cache [2Megabytes]; c) the frontside bus speed [1066 MHz]; and d) the date of manufacture [2006].

The central chip is the brains of a SATA / PATA ---> USB circuit. To me, it resembles some kind of bird man . All designs freehand using a Wacom pen and my limited imagination.
