The best days are not planned

The best days are not planned by Marcus Hansson.
Interior view of Stockholm Public Library. Don't miss out this library when you go to Stockholm. It was built by Gunnar Asplund in the 20's and is a prime example of Swedish functionalism. The library is located in the crossing of Sveagatan and Odengatan.

Wow, looks like a great library! You did a great job capturing the curvature of the book stacks.

Is photography inside a public library allowed in Sweden ? We have a lovely and modern looking central libary in Hong Kong, but photography inside is prohibited.

you have a lot going for this image. I am a sucker for line and this is so colorful and cool... but then there is the issue of the bottom right. I would prefer to see just the uninterupted line of the shelves... no woman, no desk etc..

I couldn't disagree with Superchou more! I'd like to see the woman, only younger and naked. I don't care too much about the shelves and books and all those intellectual nerdy things.

So, in the future, stick to these three items: Woman, young, naked! For extra points throw in big boobs.

Whats your subject? Leave out what is unneccessary. A little planning and the use of a tripod would have not only lent you a better composition but would also have releived the tiny bit of camera shake evident here.

You seem to be unfamiliar with architecture. Try here and here.

I guess you've been there so could you please give me advice on how to compose the picture in order to show off the curvature better?

Nice shot. I agree w/Chou that the lady is a deterent to you pic. Also, if you could have had your camera a touch lower, to minimize the lights that were shining upward would be cool. I do enjoy what you did with the lines, and composition, but from what i've seen, it's hard to make the folio here. Good overall, but....

How about tilting the camera about 1 to 2 degrees upwards and waiting till the person is out of the shot?

I think this has lots of potential with a couple of the suggestions above taken into consideration. I like the lines and the way you include the three different levels. A few technical issues (such as the lights and camera shake) keep it from being folio material.

I agree with the camera shaking thing but not with the woman. I like the feeling of one tiny person on the lower floor surrounded with all the books full of information. She can pick any book she wants to (hence the title).

For your interest (or not): the place was crowded so I had to wait quite a while to get this shot.

great film, uninteresting photo. choose what it is you want to show in this photo, you mention the curvature and architecture and the tiny person surrounded with all the books full of information.you tried, either intentionally or by fluke, to show them all and it just looks like a cluttered mess showing nothing.
