Anemone by Jeremy Rabus
Jeremy Rabus uses a purely improvised visual call-and-response process as he works. Dribbled paint, translucent glazes, and organic flourishes oppose, embrace, and traverse one another, often against geometric structures. The imagery, ultimately orchestrated from layered visual elements, generates what amounts to a collective, purely psychic landscape described as muted chromatic, conceptual, and emotional extremes. (See review by Jessica Baran, Riverfront Times, Vol. 32, No.52, p. 39).
Jeremy Rabus is a painter currently residing in St. Louis, MO. He exhibits frequently in juried shows locally and nationally. Rabus received his BFA in painting from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville in 2004. He also teaches, curates exhibitions, and travels.
