We climbed up to the top in worn out shoes,
But she ran down, she ran down.
She ran down to the house.
A fox that gains our trust but then breaks it as he walks
Away from us, away from us.
For Music Monday, how could I help but to share another song from Of Monsters and Men? This one is called "Lakehouse".
This image, made of course with a Hasselblad 500 C/M, is from Dog Mountain last year. I plan to hike this mountain again soon, but I'm worried about trail conditions. Apparently, a big ice storm in the Gorge this past winter caused a great deal of destruction to several of the trails. The ones I know about, both with exposed Eastern sides, are Dog Mountain and Wind Mountain. Today I hiked up Wind Mountain and was flabbergasted by what I saw - only 10% or so of the trail was "normal". The remainder was covered in downed trees and small dirt slides. It was nearly impassable in places, but luckily others had gone before me and had worked out alternative paths around many of the trees. The others I just had to climb and scramble over. The hike took me twice as long as it did last year! Crazy. So now I'm wondering what Dog Mountain, which is a much longer trail in general, might be like... guess we'll find out eventually.

Your forest scenes are magical to me. The Hasselblad camera delivers one quality image after the other. These scenes in nature have so much quality and depth about them. Seeing this image makes me want to go exploring a forest......any forest!
Well done, as always Danielle :)

I love this angle so much.

I love how the angle makes me feel like I'm walking uphill. And the mist in the background is so intriguing and pretty. I've never been to dog mtn before, perhaps its time to put it on my "to explore" list for the summer.

That's a fantastic photo! All the green tones, the fog in between the trees, that small path... really nice.

Gorgeous green, Danielle. The place seems so serene--hard to imagine it hit with the ruin your describe. And with budgets tight now, sometimes it takes a while before trails get cleared again.
