a distant gorge

    Newer Older

One from about halfway up Dog Mountain, made with a Hasselblad 500 C/M last spring. That's the Columbia River and the Gorge in the distance.

I apologize for being scare on Flickr this week; I think I have plans after work during every single night this week. And a six-day work week next week. March is going to be a bit stressful.

The weather here in Portland has been crazy. Things are blooming like mad, but this morning I stepped out for a run in 27-degree weather. At least the sun was shining. I like to think of my morning runs as "neighborhood blossom checks", meaning I take different routes constantly and keep an eye out for any new or interesting blooms. The thought of finding pretty flowers along every block does make getting up for a run just a little easier in the morning.

    But only a little.

"But only a little." Hear, hear. So true. Running only gets easier by doing more of it (to a limit, of course). Good for you for getting up and getting the running done in the morning, Danielle. I do imagine the hunt for new blooms is a bit of a motivator. Whatever works! Great focus on the daisy in this image. I enjoy the colour contrast of the yellow flower versus the blue cast in the background. Very nice.

this is so lovely, i really like how you've composed it. "blossom checks" is a pretty good euphemism for jogging :P

      such beautiful focus!
And love the Columbia Gorge background. Before we know it we'll find the Balsam Root in the Gorge again.
