Save TIBET by ~FreeBirD®~.
Every Morning, I wake up to read the front page news about the Torture and violent change in the peaceful land of Lama and the Gompas.

It seems that China in the wake of self empowerment has gone to extent of ruining so many innocent lives which have got nothing to do but to protect themselves for their own homes.

I personally do not like how China and its Government can play in such hostile and weird ways. I want that the people who belong to their homes should be given their homes. Let Tibet, be Free.

ah, your lines resonate the feelings of so many people, Tibetans and non - Tibetans alike! I'm waiting for the day, if ever, when Tibet wins its freedom!

Amazing photo, the composition is classy! and the colours make it come alive. Though, maybe, in the current perspective, a black and white photo would be more appropriate (in a poetic sense)

Very Good picture, Mani. But you should read more about Tibet and its history, before commenting on the present.

And don't forget that most of the Chinese goods that are sold in Ladakh's markets are brought in and sold by Tibetan refugees staying there. And yet they want to boycot Chinese goods. Isn't that hypocrisy? Not meaning what you are shouting about!

U who have visited Ladakh's border regions so often must be aware the ease with which Tibetan refugees asnd also Ladakhis cross over for trade and pilgrimage into Tibet. To Tashigong across Demchok and even to Gartok a bit further down the Indus. Why are the demos only in press focussed Lhasa and not elsewhere? Like in Western or Far Eastern Tibet? Is it because there are no Western journalists there? If ther was such oppression there will these folk be crossing over and coming back at will?

Nice pic...like the compostion.

I seem to miss bhatto point about the past and present.

There are no reports of other places because press has been restricted from other areas in Tibet. Because Lhasa is a symbolic site for Tibet.

And who buys these goods? Indians? People have to eat and survive and in the end they do what they have to do.

If things were that great in Lhasa why would the Tibetians live in India without many rights. Why would they want to live with no passport, no country and no citizenship or either country. with just a yellow refugee card. Imagine a Tibetian child born in India...he is not a citizen of any country. Why would they want to be humiliated each year by registering themselves with the Indian police. Why would they want to live in a country which first opened its arms and now to some extent resents their presence in some place.

Going across the border for pilgrimage and living there are two diferent things.

The fight for a Independant or autonomous Tibet is about basic human rights. The right to pray where they want to, the right not be killed for wearing a saffron robe. Its also about equality...not much of the economic progress is felt by the Tibetians...the Hun chinese have taken over. This fight is about a group of people who have lost home and their rights in the process in this world.

Anyway, apologies for this comment if you do not want it with your pic Mani. I just cannot take comments like these calmly. Feel free to delete the comment.

Ok, I just equally validate the comment from the Bhatto Ji, for his due update and also from Madhu Ji.
The point here is we or the people of the world do not know the realties in which the things exists. The Tibetans have the due liberty and the freedom to which they can equally explore the two countries. Being a human right to belong to one country does rings bell but actually, before we get into the deeper discussion - I will just like to highlight the fact that Tibetans at large are free to do the business and make their livelihoods.
Somewhere we may blame China for being autonomous but the large part is not known to the rest of the world. Who would have known Tibet without it being facilitated by China. Ok, this may sound partial but from the knowledge of traveling to the likes of international boundary areas, I have seen and personally noticed how the livelihood goes on.
I am not sure if I will say that its alright to let the Tibet be under the controls of China but all I want to add is, They are still living it under the liberty of being in two countries and its an added privilege to the lives of these people.

No Madhu ji, I will not want to delete this.
It is what all of should know.
Regards
Mani.

This composition is very relevant in today's time when tibetians have raised their voice after long silence. comments are good though.. LIfe is unfair and we need to learn more.. ITs easy to take sides but one thing is sure , no one can take away their home land or prohibit them from staying in their own home land.
I wouldnt have written this comment if comments of Bhatto wouldn't have hurt my insight. Tibetians are not given jobs/permit to lead normal life , what will they do?? So what if they are selling or smuggling chinese goods?? Do they have any other means ? Who is in this world would live in another country as refugee and give birth to child who will be also called refugee??? How many on this earth have courage to carry on like this for generations?? History shows evidence of humiliation and recent migration of Hun chinese is proof of what they can do. We cant forget fact that they are few against world's largest , powerul & dicating population. Who in world today has power to fight against china?? Name one..
I can only remember Tibetians..

God give them more strength.

Excellent frame.. Hope u dont mind my comment.. else pls u may delete.

TIBET,you guys are so interested in Tibet, but do u guys really know Tibet? do u know? do u know how was tibet tens of years ago?do u know who is Dalai lama? what kind of man he is?
You guys know nothing, know nothing about Tibet.
You just follow Dalai Lama's lies, follow the wrong guide of media.
All of you are cheated, all of you are fooled.
I am a native Chinese. i want to say that Tibet is always belong to China. And Dalai Lama is a dictator, dated.
Dalai Lama is always lying worldwide, especially in west in the name of human right.
If you want to know the truth, just visit tibet and look up to the history book.
Dalai Lama said that tibet people are tortured, big lie at all.
I watched a lot tv and videos, Dalai Lama was really a crime.
All he want to do is just to regain his dictatorship.
His family use to kill so many innocent tibet people in order to regain his dictatorship.
Tibet now is developing and growing stronger. It's really a great progress.

I largely agree with xjordanfly, except that the Dalai Lama is not a crime, but he certainly is promoted by the Occidentals. I have been to Tibet and it is not at all a suppressed and exploited place as depicted by the Western Press, which is more eager to misinform and exaggerate.

To answer Captain Chitnis's 9 month old question: Is Lhasa just beyond the mtn ranges? .... > Lhasa is about 1500 kms by road from Leh. There is a good road 12 kms beyond the border at Demchog all the way till Lhasa. 50 years ago it would take a 77 days marchto get there from Leh.
